Helmholtz Zentrum München - German Research Center for Environmental Health

This download page is set up to provide easy access to maize genome sequence data hosted and/or published by PGSB. The most current whole genome sequence and annotation as bulk download is available from maizesequence.org.

This page contains the annotation of finished maize BAC sequences sequenced by Rutgers University, Whitehead Institute/MIT and University of Arizona and downloaded from Genbank/NCBI.
For background information on the maize genome sequencing project see http://pgir.rutgers.edu.
For information on the annotation procedure and a web view of the annotation see http://mips.helmholtz-muenchen.de/proj/maize.

The files are provided in GAME-XML format (see http://xml.coverpages.org/game.html) for use with the Apollo genome viewer and annotation tool ( http://www.gmod.org/apollo.shtml). The files are named by the sequence version of the BAC as provided by Genbank/EMBL.

By accessing these data, you agree not to publish any articles containing analyses of genes or genomic data on a whole genome or chromosome scale prior to publication by PGSB and/or its collaborators of its comprehensive genome analysis.
The data will be available for any kind of publication that does not compete directly with planned publications of PGSB and collaborators.
Scientists are strongly encouraged to contact PGSB and/or its principal collaborator about planed publications, their intentions and any potential collaborations.
